Business/Technical Situation

Northfield Lines was managing multiple coolants and engine oils to service their equipment. Lube-Tech recognized opportunities to consolidate fluids, extend drain intervals, improve service efficiency and manage hazardous material waste.

Lube-Tech Solution

Lube-Tech helped Northfield Lines consolidate three coolants into one multi-purpose product, which helped to justify moving to a bulk purchase program, offering substantial savings over drum quantity purchases. To maximize Northfield Line’s transition to a bulk program, Lube-Tech’s Service Tech division worked with the bus company to design and install a full line of dispensing equipment, offering greater service efficiency and an enhanced fluid storage system.

Because Northfield Lines operates such a large fleet, they were managing multiple engine oils, further adding to inventory and service complexity. To simplify engine oil management, Lube-Tech helped the company select one engine oil for utilization across all units, adding to cost savings and operational efficiency. Lube-Tech and Northfield Lines are currently engaged in an extended drain test, moving twenty units in the fleet out to 15,000 mile intervals, reducing a minimum of twenty oil changes per year. That’s labor, time and materials that can be reallocated to other areas of the business.
